When were you first published/how long have you been writing?
I started writing in February of 2011. I had no idea what I was doing and did everything wrong. A few months later, I put that manuscript on hold and began writing A Year to Remember. I simply had to write it. When I finished, I was offered a contract from two publishers. My book came out less than a year after I began writing from Soul Mate Publishing. I consider myself very blessed.
So tell us about your current project or release!
A Year to Remember is about a twenty-nine-year-old woman, a compulsive overeater, who makes a drunken vow to meet and marry her soul mate before she turns thirty. After the vow ends up on YouTube, she permits a national morning news show to follow her search. As her journey takes her from Michigan to Israel, she’s forced to choose between marrying a man who loves her and staying single to be with the man she loves. Before she can make her decision, she must first face her addiction to food.
The book is available now as an e-book and will be released in print this summer.

My current project is a paranormal romance. It’s actually the book I put on hold when I wrote A Year to Remember. Of course, I had to completely start over because it was really just a big info dump with some sex. I’ve learned so much about writing in the last couple years. I’m hoping to find a home for my paranormal and turn it into a seven book series. I’m also in the early stages of plotting a three book women’s fiction series. The story is fresh and original, but it requires a lot of planning before I begin writing. I love writing in both the paranormal romance and women’s fiction genres, so I’m hoping to continue both.
Thanks for visiting with us, Shelly! And best wishes on your future career!
